Our history
BSC Kragujevac was founded in 2007, as a part of regional project “Opening of Business Start-Up Centers and Business Incubators in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia“, implemented by Dutch NGO Spark, funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Our local partners in Kragujevac were: Municipality of Kragujevac, Regional Agency for Economic Development, University of Kragujevac, Regional Chamber of Commerce, Association of entrepreneurs Sloga and Association of entrepreneurs Sumadija.
The main objective of the project was to reduce poverty through empowerment of youth entrepreneurship.
Our activities were mainly focused on: education (business skills trainings), consultancy and microcredit support to young people interested to start new, or develop existing business. We also put great efforts into wide promotion of entrepreneurship, as well as capacity building of local institutions, support to SME`s in the process of introducing quality management system and improvement of local conditions for sustainable economic development.
So far we trained over 3000 youth, who recognized our business skills trainings as useful instrument for their further professional development. 89 businesses were supported through Business Plan Competition, of which 66 were awarded with loans, in total amount of 410.000 €. Thanks to BSC 36 new businesses were founded and 166 new jobs created.
Today, after three years of operating in Kragujevac and this region, BSC Kragujevac became familiar brand, organization you can trust to, professional and credible team of 4 employees, great volunteers and network of experienced local and regional experts.
